I manaxed to break my s60 light's battery cable

Hello, I broke an old Doogee S60 Lite mobile after opening it. I broke the ribbon cable connecting the battery. I tried fixing it with my soldering iron, but that just made the cable look more broken.

My first idea was to buy a new cable, but I couldn't find one online. I thought I might as well buy a new battery with a cable, but you can't ship lithium (and in the screenshot I included, the connector seems to be on the wrong side!). So, any ideas?

Note: I don't actually need this old phone, but I am haunted by the idea of having a degree in electrical engineering only good to decorate the wall, as they say here.

Hi @micro_s

Search online for BAT17S605580 battery to find suppliers that may suit you better.

@micro_s how good are your soldering skills. take a look at the cable,, right by the connector. You see that it even lists the contacts and where these go: (P+) (NTC) (P-) Now, use a couple of strands of copper wire, like from an old LVDS cable etc. Something thin. Solder those from the battery to the connector. So instead of trying to repair your flex cable, simply apply jumper wires. Of course, after soldering, ensure that those wires are insulated so as not to shorten out on either the chassis, or amongst itself.

Easiest fix would be to not fix it at all, but to replace the battery, as my esteemed colleague already mentioned :-)
